Cost-saving playbook
Tucson's $35/ton rate at Los Reales is among the lowest in the country, but operators who default to the nearest Pima County transfer station at $65–$70/ton throw away $30–$35 per ton on every load. ScaleYourJunk logs dump fees per job automatically so you can see exactly how much routing to Los Reales saves versus county stations — and whether the drive time trade-off is worth it for each job location.

Los Reales Sustainability Campus charges $35 per ton for MSW and C&D with a $15 minimum — the cheapest disposal option in the Tucson metro. Pima County transfer stations charge significantly more: Catalina at $65 per ton and Sahuarita at $70 per ton. Speedway Recycling (Tank's Green Stuff) charges $35 per ton for C&D with a $21 minimum. Marana Regional Landfill (WM) does not publish rates — call (866) 909-4458 for commercial pricing. ADEQ Environmental Fee of $1 per ton applies at all Arizona facilities.
Los Reales Sustainability Campus and Speedway Recycling both charge $35 per ton for C&D — tied for the cheapest rate in the metro. Speedway offers convenient pickup-truck flat rates at $21 per load for C&D, making it cheaper than Los Reales for light construction loads. Speedway is located at 7301 E Speedway Blvd and specializes in C&D recycling — concrete, metals, wood, and cardboard are recycled from your loads. Does NOT accept household garbage. Los Reales at 5300 E Los Reales Rd accepts both MSW and C&D at the same rate.
Los Reales is open Saturday 6:00 AM to 5:00 PM — the longest Saturday window. Speedway Recycling has Saturday hours from 7:00 AM to 2:00 PM. Marana Regional Landfill is open Saturday 7:30 AM to noon. Pima County transfer stations (Catalina and Sahuarita) are open Saturday 7:30 AM to 3:00 PM. No facilities are open on Sundays. For the earliest Saturday access, Los Reales at 6:00 AM is your best option — arrive early to avoid the weekend rush.
Yes — commercial haulers must set up a landfill account with Los Reales before their first disposal by calling (520) 791-4183. A 40% deposit of gross vehicle weight is charged on the inbound scale and applied to your final fee on exit. Los Reales accepts Visa, Mastercard, Discover, and Apple Pay — no cash. Marana Regional Landfill (WM) also requires a commercial account and went cashless as of January 1, 2026. Speedway Recycling does not require a formal account for walk-up commercial loads.
Pima County transfer stations (Catalina at $65 per ton, Sahuarita at $70 per ton) are operated by WM under contract with Pima County and serve as convenience facilities for outlying areas — not as primary commercial disposal sites. Waste from county stations is transferred to either Los Reales or Marana Regional Landfill, adding handling and transportation costs built into the higher rate. For commercial junk removal operators, Los Reales at $35 per ton should be the primary disposal destination, with county stations used only when job location makes the drive impractical.
